- Field Review - Addition / Alteration - Including the Energy Design Summary from Capital Home Energy Inc. dated June 20, 2017, to provide exterior and interior alterations, including: removal of a kitchen and roof deck on the upper floor; alteration and repair of the front roof deck guards; removal and replacement of the front covered porch posts, guards, and railings; removal and relocation of the stairs to the existing rear deck; enlargement of the sunken entry to the basement in the rear, including a new cantilevered glass canopy above; relocation of interior walls; and change of use from a two-family dwelling to a one-family dwelling in this existing Heritage B building. NOTE: Smoke alarms and carbon monoxide alarms to be installed in each bedroom and on each storey in accordance with Sections 9.10.19 and 9.32.4.2 of the Vancouver Building By-law 2014. Scope of work to include the following energy upgrades in accordance with Article 11.2.1.4 of the 2014 Vancouver Building By-law: 1.) Increase attic insulation to R40 (7.04RSI), but not to exceed R43.7 (7.7RSI); 2.) Air seal building envelope; 3.) In lieu of increasing the flat and cathedral ceiling areas to R14, the following alternative upgrade has been accepted: a) increase basement exterior walls to R22 effective.
