Energy Upgrade Exempted: Racking Systems OK for field review as per C.Yue on Aug 23, 2019 NOTE: Building sprinklered – Sprinkler Permit NOT required. Notes: 1. Building Sprinklered – Sprinkler vs Rack Storage letter dated revised January 5, 2021 submitted by MK Woo, P.Eng. of MKW Engineering Services. 2. District Building Inspector (DBI) to confirm sprinkler coverage at rack storage. Sprinkler coverage shall meet the requirements of VBBL and NFPA 13. 3. Storage - Exsiting Sprinkler System designed for Class IV Commodities or Group A Plastics stored on racks to 15 ft., w/ a 19 ft. ceiling height, using high temp sprinkelrs (286 F) and a design density of 0.6 gpm/sq.ft. over a 2000 sq.ft. design area (see Gisborne Shop drawings for Broadway Tech Centre 2940 Virtual Way for additonal information). 4. For Clss iv commodities, non-encapsulated with 8 ft aisle, using Curve E of Figure 16.2.1.3.2.(d) = 0.45 gpm/sq.ft. over 2000 sq.ft. (see Arpac drawings dated Feb 8, 2019 for racking layout.) 5. Separate sprinkler permit and documents required for any alterations to the fire suppression system. 6.
