Description
Certified Professional Program - New Building - To construct a new 3-storey school building, Henry Hudson Elementary, including City funded childcare on L3, preschool and out of school care facilities on L1, with surface parking. L1 & L2 - Elementary School to accommodate 514 persons including children and staff. Preschool and out-of-school-program will also operate on L1, separate licenses required. L3 - childcare facility incl fit out, will support 87 children between under 18 months to 12 years old, plus up to 20 staff. The existing school will be maintained until construction is complete. Demolition of the existing school and auxiliary buildings must be demolished once the new school building obtains occupancy. Spatial separation from existing buildings are not considered. Demolition will be under a separate permit. This permit has been reviewed under the 2019 Vancouver Building By-law (#12511). Building to be sprinklered to NFPA 13 requirements. Energy requirements complies to NECB 2015. Stage 1 - Full Construction, include ground improvement per Geotechnical drawings by Thurber Engineering. Waterproofing foundation is required - issued May 16, 2022 Revision 1 - Remove shell space floor area (portion of building east of GL. K), update exterior garbage and bicycle parking facilities and landscape fencing to match DPMA DP-2022-00927. Revision also addressed Conditional Approval items (see Terms for details). Due to extent of affected drawings, issued revision drawings will be a full replacement of Full Construction drawings - issued December 5, 2023 Revision 2 - Foundation to slab on grade work for the addition of classroom (portion east of GL. K) per M/A DP-2024-00290 - issued July 3, 2024 Revision 3 - Addition of 7 classrooms & 5 washrooms to Southeast Corner at Levels 1 & 2, including Exit Stair #3, and landscape changes per DPMA DP-2024-00290 - issued September 11, 2024 Revision 4 - Change of Registered Professional of Record (Geotechnical) - issued Sept. 16, 2025
