- Field Review - Addition / Alteration - 1 Water Street Exterior alterations to this Municipally Designated Heritage C commercial building at this site to change the existing exterior glazing panel on the South Elevation to be an accessible doorway as per item #1 below: “1) rehabilitation by way of converting one existing window opening to accommodate a new, accessible recessed entrance, with exterior door assembly, along Water Street. The alterations described under item no. 1 above, authorized by the combined Development and Building Permit Number DB-2023-03435, including conditions and plans forming part thereof, are approved under the Heritage By-law and this combined Development and Building Permit also constitutes a Heritage Alteration Permit.” Furthermore, Heritage staff have the following Conditions of Approval: 1. Design development to replace proposed aluminum door assembly with historically appropriate wood door assembly. Refer to 4.3 Exterior Walls and Materials of the Gastown HA-2 Design Guidelines. 2. All conservation work should be done in accordance with approved drawings, which is made part of this permit application. Scope of work includes: 1) Converting existing exterior glazing panel to an accessible doorway.
