- I am planning on replacing the old deck with a new one. The previous deck is 8ft by 10 ft. The proposed deck is 16ft by 25ft 10" with stairs leading to the backyard. Pressure treated wood is being used for any structural part of the construction including posts, beams, and joists. Composite flooring will be used, with either aluminum or composite railing. 6"by6" posts will be fastened to concrete piers with a 24" bell bottom
