Field Review - Addition / Alteration - Appeal Z36272 heard by the Board of Variance on October 21, 2025, was ALLOWED, thereby granting permission to perform exterior alterations to extend the existing rear porch with an open deck with crawl space below in this existing Single Detached House with Secondary Suite, and subject to the following condition: (1) that ALL City permits (both development and building code related permits) must be obtained and also shall be to the satisfaction of the Director Planning. Note from the Board of Variance: The Owners were informed by the Board Chair that the proposed crawlspace cannot be turned into a full height storage area at any time in the future, and the Owners were in agreement - and that the proposed storage area shall only be within the 3'11" height space/area available above the crawlspace. Scope of work includes removal of 2 windows on the south elevation A separate sprinkler permit may be required, to be determined by the district building inspector Shambhu N. Biswas, P. Eng. - 604-250-8666 Heated crawlspace must be internally cross vented. Plant show an exterior vent. Do not install exterior ventilation. Interior ventilation ratio 1:500 required. Deck over crawlspace will need to comply with cross ventilation. Engineer to review as joists may need to be drilled.1:150 venting
