- Ikea will be carrying out an interior renovation within their back of house facilities, as well ask checkout and returns, in order to increase their capacity and efficiency of their online ordering services. There are three main areas of this interior renovation: 1. Shift interior partition walls: This includes dismantling interior partition walls in the returns, recovery and circular hub areas within the warehouse portion of the facility. In an effort to be environmentally conscious, the walls will be dismantled instead of demolished and moved to their new locations. This includes disconnecting electrical, data and security camera's and reconnecting in the new locations. 2. Framing new staff office and click and collect room as per drawings. This includes constructing new customer pick up lockers - these will be used to house online orders that customers will be able to pick up directly from the store. 3. Reconfiguring return kiosk and cash lane layout. Two new cash lanes will be added and reconfigured so that all self check out lanes will be grouped together. One new returns kiosk will be added along with plexiglass protective shielding.
